Whereas, on July 19, 2018, the Board voted to adopt a new height restriction for boats in the marina in the water, on a boat lift and on a floating dock. The new proposed height restriction is 10.5 feet. This height is based on a boat manufacturer’s bridge height clearance standard, and Whereas, this measurement customarily runs from the boat’s waterline to the top of a boat’s canopy, cabin or highest integrated structural component not including antennas, radar, or outrigger poles, and Whereas, the average measurement of the sea water level to the top of the finger piers at mean high tide is approximately 24 inches, and Whereas, the Board desires to clarify the height restriction as it should be applied to boats that are moored on fixed height boat lifts or floating boat lifts or docks, The Board resolves as follows: The height of a boat moored on a fixed height lift shall not exceed 6 feet, as measured while the boat is so moored, from the top of the adjoining finger pier to the highest integrated structural component not including antennas, radar, or outrigger poles and The height of a boat moored on a floating lift or dock shall not exceed 6 feet, as measured while the boat is so moored at high tide, from the top of the adjoining finger pier to the highest integrated structural component.
